Is the GCSE Biology equivalency exam online?
You can take your GCSE Biology equivalency test online, from the comfort of your own home or any other suitable location where you won't be disturbed. A remote invigilator will join you via video call to oversee the exam, and you can choose to complete it either on-screen or on paper. If you opt for paper, your answers will simply need to be scanned and submitted at the end of the exam.
Will my training providers accept this qualification?
A Star Equivalency has been delivering equivalency testing since 2002, and their qualifications are accepted by the majority of training providers across the UK. This includes those offering GCSE equivalency tests for teacher training routes such as PGCE, SCITT and School Direct. What is included?

Exam day setup
On the day of your GCSE equivalency exam , you must ensure that you are somewhere where you will not be disturbed and have with you a valid form of Photo ID which you must show your remote invigilator.
When can I sit my exam?
The GCSE equivalency tests can be taken year round, 6 days a week, including on Saturdays.
How long before I get my results?
You will receive your results within 10 working days of when you took your exam. You can choose our fast-track option if you need faster access to your results. This will provide you with your results up to 2 working days after your exam.
What does the GCSE Biology equivalency exam consist of?
The Biology equivalency test consists of a 2-hour long paper, based on the Edexcel International GCSE Biology Specification.
